Dear Fellow Nevadans,

I am running for the Supreme Court seat currently held by Deborah Agosti because, all my life, I have believed that anyone who is unhappy with the system should try to change it.   In my youth, this belief led me into law school to defend the rights of struggling musicians.   In later years, this belief led me to volunteer my time to helping good people run for political office.   Today, this belief has led to my candidacy for the Nevada Supreme Court.

Some of the decisions the Supreme Court made during the past year were, I believe, forays into legislating from the bench rather than interpreting the law as Nevada's Constitution is written.   Further research led me to conclude that the Court too often ignored the will and interests of the people and the meaning of the law itself.   I took particular offense when the Court said that people did not understand what they were voting for (twice!) when they decided to amend the Nevada Constitution.

I am running because Nevada's Constitution was written by the people and for the protection of the people.   It should neither be ignored nor rewritten by the judiciary.   The people deserve a fair and impartial judiciary to uphold Nevada's laws.   I am running for Supreme Court Justice because I am disappointed with the current system and I am going to work to change it.
